Interview Summary: The interview I conducted focuses on the daily struggle that my friend Alexis faces for being part of the LGBTQ community. Alexis is a gay hispanic male who deeply enjoys the art of drag but is held back by fear. It is revealed that not the entire world coincides with this ideology as people tend to say hurtful things such as “Jesus hates you” or “no fats, no femmes, no Asians” (within the LGBTQ community). Regardless of where they are discrimination follows them, and it is no different for Alexis. Alexis says these are all things that happen often and so he doesn't worry much, but was has been troubling him is the discrimination that exists within his family. Having parents with traditional views have greatly impacted the way that Alexis lives and so he now hides in fear of coming out to one of his family members: his dad.
