Summary: Today I will be having a conversation with you about race. Though a very broad topic, I will ask you very specific questions pertaining to it. I would like to ask you these questions to better understand your knowledge and perspective of the topic. I believe whenever we’ve had discussions relevant to race in the past, there seems to have been a disconnect and sense of discomfort that came with the discussion. Through a set of questions, I would like to investigate what the source of these challenges are that occur between us when having this conversation. I believe as people of color in a white supremisist society it is valuable for us to be aware of racism and white privilege and to discuss these disparities with one another. When we address our oppression and discuss it with one another we increase our awareness which is critical to the process of coping with and eventually overcoming oppression.
